Testing
St. Matthew Lutheran School students will be tested periodically in each class to determine progress. In addition, students in grades 5 to 9 will be required to write both mid-term and final exams. As well students in grades 3 - 6 -9 are required to write the Alberta Provincial Achievement Exams in June.
In March students at all grade levels will write the Canadian Tests of Basic Skills (CTBS) to determine not only their current knowledge base, but also to determine their growth rate as compared to previous years.
Students with suspected specialized learning needs may require assessments available through various agencies. The arrangements and costs of such assessments are the responsibility of the parents. Educational testing services are available at the U of A Clinical Services (780) 492-3746.
